At the SocialFest event held on May 10–11, 2026 at Istanbul University’s Beyazıt Campus in partnership with Karabük University, Istanbul University, and the SocialFest Science Association, the Faculty of Education at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University achieved a significant success by winning first place in Turkey. The projects prepared under the leadership of the Department of Early Childhood Education of the Faculty of Education received widespread acclaim at the festival.
Developed by students Adnan Aslan and Şeyhmus Tan under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Tuba Kanmaz in the Department of Early Childhood Education at the Faculty of Education, the “Digital Neighbor” project won first place in Turkey. The project, awarded first prize in the “Turkey’s Century of Communication” category, distinguished itself with its innovative approach to strengthening social communication, solidarity, and social bonds in the digital age.
Among over 12,000 applications nationwide, the other project to win first place in Turkey was “My Story,” prepared by Research Assistant Seda Sarıtaş and student İsmail Hamitoğulları. The “My Story” project was developed under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burcu Özdemir Beceren, a faculty member at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, in collaboration with the Çanakkale Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, the Graduate School of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, and the Department of Early Childhood Education at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. The project earned the admiration of the jury members for its socially oriented approach focused on the developmental processes of children and youth, and was awarded first place in Turkey in the “Youth and Future Policies in the Turkish Century” category.
Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Ayfer Şahin congratulated the faculty members and students who received the awards, noting that these two significant achievements at SocialFest 2026 once again demonstrate the Faculty of Education’s expertise in scientific research, social responsibility, and project development.
