As part of its visits to Europe, a delegation from Kırşehir Ahi Evran University met with Turkish citizens living in the Netherlands and Belgium, conducting a series of visits aimed at strengthening social ties and prioritizing academic collaboration. In this context, during the meetings held by the delegation led by Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, the delegation gathered with our citizens in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
At the first stop of their visit, Rector Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Özata met with the Kırşehir Associations active in Holland's Tilburg and Belgium's Saint-Amands. During these meetings, they were warmly welcomed by our fellow citizens. Discussions on the development process of our university and current initiatives in Kırşehir served to strengthen the sense of belonging between the Kırşehir diaspora in Europe and the university, while joint steps to be taken for cultural sustainability were evaluated. At the conclusion of the visit, Rector Karahocagil thanked the President of the Kırşehir Association in St. Amands Hüseyin Ersoy, and the President of the Kırşehir Association in Tilburg Ömer Aydın for their kindness and hospitality, and presented them with gifts.
Another key component of the European visit was a trip to the headquarters of the Islamic Community of Milli Görüş (IGMG). During this visit, Rector Karahocagil met with IGMG President Kemal Ergün to discuss opportunities for inter-institutional cooperation. The meetings took place in a cordial atmosphere, with Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil accompanied by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Özata and Dr. Mahmut Sarı, Coordinator of the Office of International Relations.
During the meetings, which emphasized that the philosophy of Ahilik is not merely a historical legacy but also the essence of quality and ethical values in modern higher education, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil expressed his commitment to integrating Turkish citizens living in Europe and their children into the Turkish higher education system, in addition to highlighting the contributions that the principles of Ahilik could make to the higher education system. During this sincere meeting, which focused on education and culture, consensus was reached on potential strategic partnerships between the two institutions. At the conclusion of the visit, Rector Karahocagil thanked General President Kemal Ergün for his kindness and hospitality and presented him with a gift.
The meeting, during which mutual good wishes were exchanged, was noted as a significant milestone in our university’s vision to expand its international social and academic networks.
