Organized in collaboration with the Education Attaché’s Office of the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Essen and the Center for Turkey and Integration Studies (ZfTI), the “Turkish Universities Information Days” took place on May 9–10 at the Turkish Education Center in Dortmund with a large attendance. Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, with its visionary projects and deep-rooted cultural heritage, became the focal point of interest for young people living abroad at the event.

In line with its internationalization goals, our university was represented by a high-level delegation at the program in Dortmund. Led by the Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, the delegation also included Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Özata and International Relations Office Coordinator Dr. Mahmut Sarı, who personally conveyed our university’s academic expertise and future vision to our European partners.

The official opening ceremony of the program was highlighted by speeches from the Consul General in Essen Taylan Özgür Aydın and Education Attaché at the Turkish Ministry of National Education in Essen Sabri Yolcu. While diplomatic representatives noted that the opportunities offered by Turkish universities serve as a national bridge for young people living in Europe, they also expressed their gratitude for the active role played by Kırşehir Ahi Evran University in this process.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, KAEU Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil highlighted the role of the “Ahilik” philosophy in the modern education system and emphasized our university’s mission to educate individuals who are equipped not only with scientific knowledge but also with moral values. Sharing detailed information about Kırşehir Ahi Evran University’s specialization projects, pilot studies, and international student admission processes, Rector Karahocagil added that he was greatly pleased to represent our university at such an event. Later, as a meaningful token of the ceremony and to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation, our university’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, presented gifts to Essen Consul General Taylan Özgür Aydın and Education Attaché Sabri Yolcu.

At the information booth set up during the event, the Office of International Relations met with potential students and their families to answer their questions. Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Office of International Relations Dr. Mahmut Sarı provided information to prospective students about academic departments, study abroad opportunities, and the enrollment process. During the discussions, which also covered campus life in Kırşehir, the students’ interest in pursuing education in Turkey and their sincere approach were warmly welcomed.

Through this institutional representation in Dortmund, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University has once again solidified its reputation as a trusted academic institution among the Turkish diaspora in Europe. Conducted within the framework of internationalization strategies, these activities will contribute strategically to increasing the number of international students, strengthening global academic collaborations, and enhancing our university’s visibility on international education platforms in the coming period.
