The efforts undertaken by Kırşehir Ahi Evran University as part of its eco-friendly campus vision and sustainable environmental policies have begun to yield results. Following inspections conducted by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University has been awarded the Zero Waste Certificate.

As part of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University’s efforts to prevent waste generation, use resources efficiently, and recycle waste, the Zero Waste Project continues to be successfully implemented across all its campuses. The active use of recycling bins placed throughout all units—from the Rectorate building to faculties, social facilities, and open areas—by staff and students, along with educational programs on zero waste and sustainability, played a significant role in the university's receipt of the Zero Waste Certificate.

In a statement on the matter, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil emphasized that being eco-friendly and environmentally conscious must now become a way of life, noting that the Zero Waste Certificate represents an important step toward achieving the “Green Campus” goals. Expressing his hope that the Zero Waste Certificate will bring benefits to Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Rector Karahocagil noted that they will continue to serve as an example to other institutions through their eco-friendly and nature-friendly approaches.
