A Foster Family Panel was organized as part of the Social Responsibility Project of the Faculty of Medicine at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, with the support of the Kırşehir Governor’s Office and the Kırşehir Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services. The panel held on April 15, 2026 at the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center’s July 15 National Will Hall. Kırşehir Deputy Governor Alper Balcı, Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, Kırşehir Provincial Director of Family and Social Services Serkan Sağlam academic and administrative staff foster families and students attended the panel.

The opening speeches of the panel were delivered by Deputy Governor of Kırşehir Alper Balcı, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, and Provincial Director of Family and Social Services in Kırşehir Serkan Sağlam.All highlighted the importance of foster care. Noting that they organized this event to make a difference in the lives of many children, the speakers stated that foster care is deeply rooted in the spirit of our province and is an important way to show children that they are not alone. The speakers also noted that foster care is a priority for Kırşehir and expressed their gratitude to everyone who contributed to the organization and execution of the panel.

Following the opening remarks, Çağla Ekin from the Kırşehir Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services gave a presentation on “Child Services,” while Nida Şahin spoke on “Foster Care Services.” Foster families from Kırşehir then took the floor to share their experiences regarding foster care.
The panel continued with video presentations, and at the conclusion of the panel, the Music Department of our university’s Neşet Ertaş Faculty of Fine Arts gave a concert.
