Kırşehir Ahi Evran University has successfully completed its EFQM Model Self-Assessment studies, conducted to strengthen quality management processes and advance toward institutional excellence. Organized by the Quality Management Coordinatorship, the meeting took place on February 26, 2026, at the Central Library Multi-Purpose Hall under the guidance of EFQM Model Consultant Dr. Mehmet Çoban. The meeting was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Vice Rector and Quality Management Coordinator Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, Secretary General Asst. Prof. Hüseyin İlter, Deputy Coordinator Ekrem Öztürk, as well as criteria team leaders and members.

The meeting focused on the core criteria of the EFQM Model, including Purpose, Vision and Strategy, Organizational Culture and Leadership, Engaging Stakeholders, Creating Sustainable Value, Driving Performance and Transformation, Stakeholder Perceptions, and Strategic and Operational Performance. Under each criterion, the university's current status was evaluated, and its strengths and areas for improvement were identified. During the session, Vice Rector and Quality Management Coordinator Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek provided a comprehensive assessment regarding the findings of the four-day intensive study.

Following the evaluation, EFQM Model Consultant Dr. Mehmet Çoban provided comprehensive insights into the strengths identified across the seven criteria, emerging areas for improvement, and observations regarding the award process.

The meeting continued with brief presentations from the criteria leaders regarding their respective studies. In his closing remarks, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil highlighted Kırşehir Ahi Evran University's significant achievement in 2023 as the first university in Türkiye to receive the 5-Star Award for Outstanding Performance and Competence within the EFQM framework. Emphasizing the strategic importance of the EFQM Model for institutional development, Rector Karahocagil expressed the university’s commitment to disseminating the EFQM approach across all processes and their intent to participate in the award process once again. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil concluded his speech by thanking all the teams for their dedicated efforts and contributions.

With the completion of the EFQM Model self-assessment process, the university's strengths were systematically identified, and areas for development were established, moving preparations for the award process to the next level. During the meeting, it was further emphasized that the journey toward institutional excellence continues with the target of achieving a 6-star rating.
