Kırşehir Ahi Evran University's Coordination Office of Institutional Communication organized an event titled “Common Language in Institutional Communication.” Held on January 22, 2026, at the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center's July 15 National Will Hall, the event was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Musa Özata and Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, Corporate Communications Coordinator Lecturer Dr. Vahit Özdemir, Artificial Intelligence Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Ziya Olpak, Distance Education Research and Application Center Director Dr. Lecturer Fatma Keskinkılıç, unit communication representatives, and unit social media managers.

The opening speech of the Common Language Meeting was delivered by Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, who highlighted the purpose of the event. Explaining that the Common Language Meeting had been planned for a long time, Rector Karahocagil emphasized the importance of units communicating with the Coordination Office of Institutional Communication and sharing and announcing their work in this way. Stating that they believe communication between units must be strong, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil said, “Doing a job well is important, but announcing the work that has been done is equally necessary and important.” Referring to our university's 20th anniversary celebrations in his speech, Rector Karahocagil added that they will carry out various activities as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations and that unit communication representatives have an important role to play in publicizing these activities. Noting that the activities of all units are important, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil said, “Each of your efforts is valuable, and publicizing and sharing these efforts is also valuable.” Continuing his speech, Rector Karahocagil also provided information about the Science Communication Offices established within the Coordination Office of Institutional Communication, explaining that this office has an important role in bringing the science produced at our university to the public. “Seeing the knowledge we produce benefit society increases our motivation,” said Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, wishing the Common Language Meeting in Corporate Communications event success and prosperity.

Following Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek took the floor and presented the 20th Anniversary Event Plans prepared by our university as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations. In his presentation, Şimşek stated that they had planned many activities within the framework of the events, including an alumni program and the presentation of awards and plaques to administrators who had served at our university. Emphasizing the importance of corporate identity in his speech, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek said that our university's corporate identity work would be completed shortly.

Subsequently, Coordination Office of Institutional Communication Coordinator Dr. Vahit Özdemir delivered a speech and presented his presentation. In his presentation, Özdemir touched upon the purpose of the coordination office, explaining that it is responsible for strengthening corporate identity, developing relationships with institutions at the local, national, and international levels, collaborating with press and media organizations, and establishing an effective communication network between our university and the public. Dr. Vahit Özdemir also mentioned the work of the Science Communication Office within the Coordination Office, emphasizing that the Science Communication Office is actively involved in bringing the projects produced at our university to the public. Özdemir stated that Department Communication Representatives were appointed to actively communicate with the Corporate Communication Coordination Office. He added that department communication representatives play an important role in announcing and sharing activities, studies, conferences, symposiums, and other events held at our university and departments.

Following the speeches, training sessions were held for unit communication representatives. Artificial Intelligence Training was provided by Artificial Intelligence Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Ziya Olpak, followed by Canva Training provided by Dr. Fatma Keskinkılıç, Director of the Distance Education Research and Application Center.
