The “We Are Volunteers” project, a social responsibility initiative implemented under the Youth Projects Support Program to support volunteer-based applications of responsibility courses conducted at universities by the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports, was successfully carried out by the Design Department of Mucur Vocational School with the support of our University's Social Contribution Coordination Office. While numerous applications were received for the We Are Volunteers Project across Turkey, the applications of four vocational schools, including the Design Department of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Mucur Vocational School, were accepted for the project.

As part of the project, activities were held on December 20, 2025, at the Kırşehir Fatma Bacı Children’s Homes Site, featuring design-based workshops, creative games, karaoke events, clown shows, painting sessions, and AI-supported drawing applications for children. The students who took an active role in the process gained a sense of social responsibility by participating in the planning and implementation stages, while also finding the opportunity to develop their professional and social awareness. In line with the support program announced by the Ministry to universities across Turkey, the project—developed within the scope of the social responsibility course—was led by Lecturer Sezin Nikbay, Head of the Design Department at Mucur Vocational School. Faculty members from the Design Department, Lecturer Mehmet Kocamış and Lecturer Selçuk Camcı, along with second-year Design Department students, actively participated in the project. Conducted in collaboration with the Kırşehir Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, the implementation process was also supported by Yavuz Aydın, Branch Manager of Educational, Social, and Cultural Activities, and Project Controller Mehmet Salih Çelik.

Project coordinator and Design Department faculty member Lecturer Sezin Nikbay expressed her gratitude to the Kırşehir Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, the Management of Fatma Bacı Children’s Homes Site, and the academic staff and students of the Design Department for their support and contributions in bringing this social responsibility project to life.
