Kırşehir Ahi Evran University's Social Contribution Coordination Office and Health, Culture, and Sports Directorate collaborated to organize an event titled “Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil Meets with Student Clubs” as part of the Social Transcript Application. The event took place on December 25, 2025, at the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center's July 15 National Will Hall. Attendees included Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Kırşehir Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Yasin Çakmakçı, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Musa Özata and Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, General Secretary Dr. Hüseyin İlter, department heads, directors, academic and administrative staff, and students.
Yasin Çakmakçı: “Our country will rise through individuals who think, question, produce, and take responsibility.”
The event began with a musical performance by students from the Music Department of the Neşet Ertaş Faculty of Fine Arts at our university. Continuing with opening speeches, Director of Youth and Sports in Kırşehir Yasin Çakmakçı gave a speech expressing his gratitude for the cooperation with Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. Providing information about the University Student Community Cooperation and Support Program (ÜNİDES) run by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Çakmakçı told students that university life gains meaning not only through academic achievements but also through social, cultural, and sporting activities. Yasin Çakmakçı noted that our country will rise thanks to individuals who think, question, produce, and take responsibility, and thanked everyone who contributed to organizing the event.

Rector Karahocagil: “Taking on a role in a club is not just about being able to organize an activity; it also means taking responsibility, learning to make decisions together, and creating value together.”
Then Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil took the floor and delivered his speech. Expressing his great pleasure at meeting with the student clubs that bring vitality to the academic, social, and cultural life of our university, Rector Karahocagil stated that universities are not just classrooms and laboratories, but rather a multifaceted living space where students discover themselves, generate ideas, take responsibility, learn to work together, continue their personal development, and touch society through socialization. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil emphasized that being part of a club is not just about organizing activities, but also about learning responsibility and decision-making, and creating value together. He continued his speech as follows: "As in the Ahilik tradition, it means doing your job properly, sincerely intending to do your best, and striving to do so. Every activity you carry out through student clubs equips you with Ahi values and skills, which are at the very heart of social life, beyond academic knowledge, such as leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving—values that can be summarized as becoming a good and righteous person."

Rector Karahocagil: “Our expectation from you is that you pursue academic success alongside social, cultural, and ethical values.”
In his speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil also mentioned the values of Ahilik, stating, “Ahilik means ‘we’ rather than ‘I’; it means striving not only for success but also for what is good, right, beautiful, and beneficial.” Explaining that the participatory university approach requires students to be involved in the process not only as listeners but also as individuals who think, question, and make suggestions, Rector Karahocagil noted that the management of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University wants students to be productive, thoughtful, and suggestive individuals who criticize when necessary, rather than passive observers. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil said that Ahi Evran's legacy requires raising individuals with high self-awareness who act with their minds and consciences, take initiative in their own sphere of influence, and consider work a form of worship. He continued his speech as follows: "In this context, our expectation from you is that you pursue academic success as multidimensional individuals with social, cultural, and ethical values. This means producing something not only for yourselves, but also for your university, your city, and society. Remember that university years are not just a process of acquiring a profession; they are also a period of building character and responsibility. When you graduate from university, we want you to have not only a diploma for a profession, but also the values you have produced, the friendships you have accumulated, the kindness you have nurtured like a snowball, your stance, your hard work, and your sense of responsibility."

At the end of his speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil urged students to place great importance on the Social Transcript Application and the Integrated Quality Management System, adding that these two applications would greatly benefit students.
Following the speech by Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, informational presentations were given by the units. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Okan Kuzu presented on the “Social Transcript Application,” Health, Culture, and Sports Directorate staff member Hakan Kılıç presented on the “Student Community System,” Quality Management Coordinator Assistant Ekrem Öztürk on the “Quality Management System,” Kırşehir Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports Youth Leader Emre Dilek on the “ÜNİDES Application Process,” Sustainability Coordinator Assistant Dr. Lecturer Demet Hayriye Özaltun on “Environmental and Sustainability Coordination Activities,” Career Planning Application and Research Center Deputy Director Lecturer İbrahim Şamil Soylu “Combating Addiction” and Social Contribution Coordinator Lecturer Bayram Koyuncu “Social Contribution Coordination Activities” gave presentations to inform students.
