The UNİKOP Action Plan Workshop was held under the chairmanship of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, which currently holds the presidency of the KOP Region Universities Union (UNİKOP). Held on December 18, 2025, at the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center's July 15 National Will Hall, the workshop was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Musa Özata and Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, Vice Rector of Yozgat Bozok University Prof. Dr. Güngör Yılmaz, representatives of UNİKOP member universities, UNİKOP officials, scientists, academic and administrative staff, and students. With high attendance, the workshop brought together common ideas through evaluations in the areas of regional R&D cooperation, regional development and social responsibility, digital education platforms, and cultural and social events.

The workshop began with opening speeches, with Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş delivering the first address. Providing information about the workshop, Güneş mentioned its purpose and stated that working groups had been formed under four main headings: regional R&D cooperation, regional development and social responsibility, digital education platforms, and cultural and social events. Explaining that the workshop held at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University would contribute to strengthening regional cooperation and solving problems in the UNİKOP region, Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş added that an action plan would be implemented based on the information and decisions obtained at the end of the workshop. Güneş stated that the UNİKOP Action Plan Workshop aims to involve NGOs and stakeholders in these projects and that this project will also strengthen cooperation between universities. Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş thanked everyone who contributed to the organization of the workshop and expressed his hope that the workshop would be productive.

Following Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil took the floor and delivered a speech. In his speech, Rector Karahocagil stated that as of February 2025, the presidency of UNİKOP will be transferred to Kırşehir Ahi Evran University for a period of two years, noting that they are working to establish UNİKOP as an institutional structure. Explaining the purpose of organizing the UNIKOP Action Plan Workshop, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil stated that he believed the workshop would lead to increased cooperation and joint efforts among universities. Emphasizing the importance of this workshop organized under our university's presidency, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil added that the decisions to be taken at the end of the workshop would be implemented in line with both the strategic development plan and the activities of the regional development administration. Noting that the contributions of the scientists and academics participating in the workshop were important, Rector Karahocagil said that regional universities would also benefit from these studies and contribute to sustainability. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil thanked everyone who contributed to the organization of the UNİKOP Action Plan Workshop and expressed his hope that the workshop would be beneficial for our university, our city, and our region.

Following the opening speeches, working groups formed under four main headings gathered in different rooms to exchange ideas and make assessments. Throughout the day-long workshop, important decisions were made for the benefit of our region.
