World Ranking 2025 of UI GreenMetric (Green Measurement), which evaluates higher education institutions in the areas of environmental awareness and sustainability has been published. Kırşehir Ahi Evran University has continued its rise in the UI GreenMetric (Green Measurement) World Ranking in 2025, having entered the ranking for the first time in 2024. Our university ranked 731st in the GreenMetric 2025 World University General Ranking with 6,112 points. Among the 1,547 universities included in the ranking by GreenMetric, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University ranked 731st as a result of its work on the environment and sustainability.
Continuing its efforts with sustainable energy efficiency and an environmentally friendly campus in harmony with nature, our university ranked 179th among 360 universities in the European rankings. Having launched the Zero Waste Project and demonstrating its status as an environmentally friendly university by utilizing sustainable energy sources, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University ranked 78th among 142 universities in Turkey. As a result of these figures, our university has made significant progress on the list compared to 2024.
In his assessment of the matter, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil stated that our university's rise in the GreenMetric 2025 World University Rankings was the result of efforts made in the areas of sustainability and the environment. Emphasizing that our university is rapidly progressing towards becoming an environmentally friendly university with sustainable and renewable energy sources, Rector Karahocagil said that our university has made significant progress in this context with its Zero Waste Project. Explaining that the university uses solar energy systems in certain areas, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil also stated that waste that causes environmental pollution will contribute to the economy through recycling, opening the door to a more sustainable life. Noting that our university has increased its academic and scientific success with its work in the national and international arena, in addition to being an environmentally friendly university, he added that they will continue to work tirelessly to add new achievements to those of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University.
