The Environmental Protection and Packaging Waste Recycling Foundation (ÇEVKO) presented the 3rd Green Dot Student Awards as part of its traditional Green Dot Awards at a ceremony held on December 2, 2025, at the Istanbul Service Building of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB). The “Green Dot” symbol indicates that businesses contribute financially to the system for the recovery of packaging from products they place on the market, serving as a sign of extended producer responsibility.
Organized by the ÇEVKO Foundation, the representative of the Green Dot symbol in Turkey that is growing and gaining strength in our country every day, the Green Dot Student Awards aim to encourage students to contribute to the sustainable future of our country and the world. In this context, Hakan Yılmaz, a student in the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology at the Faculty of Agriculture, received second prize in the Environmental Social Responsibility Applications category for his project entitled “Sustainable Living Model in Rural Areas” and also received an incentive award in the Eco-Design of Packaging category for his project titled “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Tracking for Smart Modular Packaging.” Speaking at the ceremony, he expressed his happiness at contributing to the work carried out by Kırşehir Ahi Evran University in the areas of sustainability, recycling, nature-friendly technologies, and circular economy. Student's advisor Faculty of Agriculture Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Filik stated in his speech, “We will continue to contribute to our university's vision of sustainability and recycling. We will continue to represent our university on national and international platforms by developing projects that reduce environmental impacts, generate social benefits, and focus on green technology.” These achievements are a strong indicator of our students' innovative perspective and our university's research and development culture. Our university will continue to support all students who develop sustainability-based solutions and environmentally friendly applications.
