Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, Provincial Police Department, and Provincial Gendarmerie Command jointly organized a panel on November 25 International Day for the Action Against Violence Towards Women. Held on December 3, 2025, at the Neşet Ertaş Hall of the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center, the panel was attended by Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emine Şener, Social Services Specialist Didem Dirlik Sevinç, Dr. Lecturer Sümeyye Ahi, Commissioner Hamza Özcan, and J. Asb. Çvş. Şebnem Özer, academic and administrative staff, and a large number of students.

Making the opening speech of the event, Associate Professor Emine Şener emphasized the importance of the event by talking about the destructive effects of violence against women on society and the role of universities in solving such social problems. Another speaker at the event, Social Services Specialist Didem Dirlik Sevinç provided information about domestic violence, violence against women, and support mechanisms for women. Provincial Gendarmerie Command personnel J. Asb. Çvş. Şebnem Özer, commented on the legal implications of violence against women in Turkey. Emphasizing the importance of legal regulations, Özer provided information about Law No. 6284 on the Protection of the Family and the Prevention of Violence Against Women. Provincial Police Department personnel Commissioner Hamza Özcan informed students about the Support for Women Application (KADES). Finally, Dr. Sümeyye Ahi spoke about the Fatma Bacı Women's Studies Application and Research Center (FABKAM). She stated that the center's purpose is to conduct research and studies in all areas related to women's issues both domestically and internationally, and to protect and improve the status of women in social, cultural, economic, legal, and political matters, as well as in the workplace and health issues.

This panel held at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University on “November 25 International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women” to facilitate victims' access to justice, ensure the effective provision of protective and preventive services, and raise social awareness for a comprehensive struggle against violence towards women. This awareness-raising panel on the causes, consequences, and solutions to violence against women provided a platform for a productive exchange of ideas between the audience and speakers. The event concluded with an emphasis on the need for joint action to build a safer society.
