In collaboration with the Kırşehir Governor's Office and Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Günaydın Et Restaurant Group and King Of Meat CEO Cüneyt Asan held a speech at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. On 28 November 2025, the speech was held at the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center 15 July National Will Hall. The speech was attended by the Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Deputy Governor İsmail Çetinkaya, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Musa Özata and Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, Director of the School of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Ayfer Şahin, academic and administrative staff, and a large number of students.

In his opening remarks, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil emphasized that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University is providing vocational education. Stating that Akhism is a professional organization and that it is therefore very important to host master craftsmen, Rector Karahocagil continued his speech as follows: "In fact, today's discussion is the subject of the Akhism and entrepreneurship courses offered at our university. Having masters with professional experience participate in such discussions and meet with our students contributes to their orientation training." At the end of his speech, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil expressed his great pleasure in hosting renowned chef Cüneyt Asan at our university and thanked everyone who contributed to the preparation of the discussion.

Cüneyt Asan stated that he pioneered and revolutionized the butchery profession. Asan explained that during his time as a butcher, it was difficult to find girls who would marry butchers, saying, “In my day, they wouldn't give their daughters to butchers, but today girls want to become butchers, and this country owes that to me.” Stating that he brought the butchery profession to an important place, Cüneyt Asan noted that the profession now has prestige and that he has trained many masters who have made a name for themselves in this profession. Emphasizing that he considered it his duty to bring prestige to the butchery profession, Asan continued his speech as follows: "When I turned 18, I realized something else. All the butchers were named ‘Bahar’. I wanted ours to be different, so I chose the name ‘Günaydın’. Because back then, children would sell newspapers in the Butchers' Market, calling out ‘Günaydın’. Until evening, the shopkeepers would hear the name Günaydın Newspaper and get all kinds of news from there. I decided to give our butcher shop this name, which reminded me of wisdom and greatness, with my master's approval. After I went to the army in 1980 and came back, we decided to take over the butcher shop where I had worked as an apprentice for years, with the brothers Nimet Yalçın and İsmet Yalçın. Because our boss was getting old and didn't want to do this job anymore. However, the three of us didn't have enough money to take over the shop; finally, we joined forces with seven partners and took it over. Right now, the three of us are continuing on our path. We've been together for 40 years and are more than brothers. Nimet and İsmet Yalçın are my brothers. Everything was going well in our shop, but it wasn't enough for us. At that time, we were on the Anatolian side, and we wanted to reach people on the European side as well. We decided that we needed a new image for this, so we demolished our shop and built the world's first American-style butcher shop with a bar and a library. Opening a kebab shop seemed like a good idea. Because kebab shops were buying meat from our butcher shop. We had strong relationships. But I had figured out how people in Istanbul liked to consume meat. In my opinion, this delicious taste needed to be reinterpreted in Istanbul. I went beyond the classic kebab recipes and used my experience to reinterpret this unique taste."

He added that throughout his professional career, he had learned only one lesson from life that problems are not actually problems, but obstacles that must be overcome. Explaining that he had never been afraid of losing throughout his life and had always acted courageously, Asan said, “I always had the strength to overcome, and I still do.” Addressing young entrepreneurs at the end of his speech, Cüneyt Asan advised them to always be brave.

Following the well-attended discussion, the Director of the School of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Ayfer Şahin, Kırşehir Deputy Governor İsmail Çetinkaya and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek presented a certificate of appreciation and a gift to renowned chef Cüneyt Asan. The discussion concluded with a group photo.
