Under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, “International Symposium on the Pioneers of the Turkish Written Language in Anatolia and Aşık Paşa” was held on November 21, 2025, at the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center, 15 July National Will Hall. The closing program of the symposium was attended by Kırşehir Governor Murat Sefa Demiryürek, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, 22nd and 23rd Term Trabzon, 24th Term Ankara Deputy, Founding Rector of Health Sciences University Cevdet Erdöl, President of Turkish Manuscripts Dr. Coşkun Yılmaz, NGO representatives, scientists, deans, directors, academic and administrative staff, and students.
In the closing program, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Fatih Köksal from Istanbul Kültür University, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Argunşah from Erciyes University, Prof. Dr. Şebnem Hasanlı-Garıbova from the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Vügar Sultanzade from Eastern Mediterranean University, agreed that the symposium had been highly productive and emphasized the importance of such symposiums for the Turkish language and history. Finally, the participants expressed their gratitude to all the academics and students who attended the symposium.
Following the conclusion of the program, participants attended the opening of the “Ashik Pasha Manuscript Exhibition.” This exhibition comprehensively showcases the works of Aşık Paşa, one of the most important figures in the Turkish language. Consisting of manuscripts by the great scholar, mystic, and poet Aşık Paşa from Kırşehir, who pioneered the Turkish language as a science, wisdom, and literary language, the exhibition sheds light on the cultural riches of Kırşehir and awaits visitors interested in history and literature. Bringing together the works of Âşık Paşa, the exhibition will be open to visitors until May 16, 2026.
