Olympic, World, and European champions who visited our university to participate in the International Health, Sports, and Tourism Congress — Muhammet Karavuş (wrestling), Ferhat Can Kavurat, Hakan Reçber, Merve Dinçel Kavurat (taekwondo), and Sude Nur Arslan and Yoncagül Yılmaz (boxing) — visited the Athlete Health Research, Application and Thermal Rehabilitation Center (SAUTER) on 13 November 2025. During the visit, the athletes were accompanied by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, Secretary General Dr. Hüseyin İlter, SAUTER Director Prof. Dr. Hakkı Çağdaş Basat, and academic staff working at SAUTER.

SAUTER Director Prof. Dr. Hakkı Çağdaş Basat gave a speech to athletes. Basat emphasized SAUTER is a very important center for athlete health. SAUTER opened on October 7, 2024. He said the center consists of two parts: a measurement area and an exercise-rehabilitation area. Prof. Dr. Hakkı Çağdaş Basat stated they provide health services to athletes with a strong team and a wide service area. He mentioned there are not many centers like SAUTER in our country. Basat noted SAUTER is a highly important health center for our country, region, and province. He concluded SAUTER is always at the service of our athletes.


During the visit, our national athletes received detailed information about SAUTER and stated they were proud to know such facilities exist at their university. They mentioned that their sports are individual sports highly prone to injury, and this center offers great opportunities for them. The visit concluded with a souvenir photo session.
