As part of the “Breath for the Future, Breath for the World” campaign initiated under the auspices of the Presidency in 2019, this year’s activities were held under the slogan “The Soil Is Our Witness, the Sapling Our Signature, and the Green Homeland Our Passion.” On this meaningful day, the University’s Sustainability Coordination Office and the Environmental Issues Application and Research Center participated in the tree-planting event held at Aşıkpaşa Nature Park on November 11, 2025. During the event, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University was represented by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, while Kırşehir Governor Murat Sefa Demiryürek visited our stand and received information about the university’s ongoing environmental initiatives.
As part of its environmentally conscious and sustainability-oriented “Green Campus” initiatives, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University planted nearly 60,000 saplings and plants in 2025. In line with efforts to preserve the natural landscape, expand green areas, and raise environmental awareness among students, a tree-planting event was held on 12 November 2025 near the main campus entrance gate. The event was attended by Deputy Governor İsmail Çetinkaya, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, Prof. Dr. Musa Özata, and Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, Secretary-General Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Hüseyin İlter, along with many academic and administrative staff. Kırşehir Ahi Evran University aims to create both an aesthetic and sustainable living environment through its ongoing landscaping and environmental improvement projects.
Commenting on the afforestation efforts, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil stated: “Our university contributes to ecological balance through its landscaping and afforestation activities and continues its efforts with the same dedication to ensure that our students develop strong environmental awareness. In line with our Green Campus vision, we aim to create a sustainable university environment in harmony with nature. We are also establishing new social spaces for our students to benefit from.” Rector Karahocagil also expressed his gratitude to the University Secretariat, the Sustainability Coordination Office, the Environmental Issues Application and Research Center, and the Technical Department of Construction and Works for their contributions to the campus afforestation efforts.
