Kırşehir Ahi Evran University held a certificate presentation ceremony themed “A New Step in the Quality Journey” to mark the awarding of the ISO 50001 Energy Management Certificate and the ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Certificate. The ceremony took place on 4 November 2025 in the Yunus Emre Meeting Hall, with the participation of Vice Rector and Quality Management Coordinator Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, Secretary General Dr. Hüseyin İlter, SigmaCert Global representative Mustafa Cihan, department heads, unit representatives, and academic and administrative staff.

In the opening speech of the ceremony, Secretary General Dr. Hüseyin İlter emphasized the importance of the university’s quality processes, noting that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University has become a role model for Turkish higher education. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to these efforts.

Later, Mustafa Cihan, the owner of SigmaCert Global, took the floor and shared information about the company, expressing his satisfaction in working with Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. Emphasizing that the university is a leader in quality initiatives, Cihan noted that the institution demonstrated outstanding performance in the processes for obtaining both the ISO 50001 Energy Management Certificate and the ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Certificate.

Vice Rector and Quality Management Coordinator Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek took the floor and provided a detailed overview of the university’s ongoing quality assurance processes. Noting that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University has obtained five certificates since initiating its quality journey in 2015, Şimşek emphasized that this success was achieved through strong teamwork. He underlined their goal of strengthening the university and producing high-quality work, stating, “Quality is a tool for serving people and our country.” Expressing his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the quality initiatives, Şimşek wished that the ISO 50001 Energy Management Certificate and the ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Certificate would bring benefits to both the university and the city.

Following the opening speeches, Energy Management Coordinator Dr. Müjdat Öztürk delivered a presentation on the ISO 50001 Energy Management System, while Erkan Kuloğlu, Head of the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, presented information on the ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Process.

After the presentations, Mustafa Cihan, the owner of SigmaCert Global, presented the ISO 50001 Energy Management Certificate and the ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Certificate to Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek. Subsequently, Prof. Şimşek presented certificates of appreciation to the university staff who contributed to the certification process.

After the certificate presentations, a Quality Cooperation Protocol was signed between Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek and SigmaCert Global owner Mustafa Cihan. Through this protocol, significant contributions are expected to be made to the university’s ongoing development in the field of quality management.

The ISO 50001 Energy Management Certificate and the ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Certificate provide significant contributions to the vision of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. These certifications not only demonstrate the university’s compliance with international standards but also mark an important milestone in its journey toward excellence in quality management.
