Kırşehir Ahi Evran University’s Ahi Children’s University organized a meaningful event celebrating the 102nd anniversary of the Republic on October 30, 2025, at the Faculty of Education’s multipurpose hall. The event—held in collaboration with the Faculty of Education, Kırşehir Provincial Directorate of National Education, and Cacabey Youth Center—was part of the university’s Children’s University project, which aims to foster children’s social, cultural, and scientific development by bringing together young learners and scholars from various disciplines. The celebration was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Özata, Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Ertuğrul Yaman, Director of the Children’s University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Okan Kuzu, along with academic and administrative staff, students, and their families.
In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Okan Kuzu, Director of the Children’s University, emphasized that the Republic is the result of a heroic and selfless struggle for independence. He stated, “The independence struggle of our noble nation is one of faith, revival, and existence. With the awareness of this epic struggle, we must raise our children as a generation that will keep the torch of the Republic burning forever—learning from the past, shaping the future, and grounded in national and moral values.” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kuzu concluded his remarks by expressing his great pride and joy in celebrating the 102nd anniversary of the Republic.
Continuing the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Ertuğrul Yaman, Dean of the Faculty of Education, expressed his pride in being part of a great nation that has founded states and civilizations throughout history and taught humanity the values of justice and righteousness. Addressing the students attending the event, Prof. Dr. Yaman emphasized the importance of knowing the nation’s history, culture, and faith, as well as learning both national and universal values. He stated that the country needs young people who are aware of their responsibilities to their nation, can live in harmony with the world, recognize threats to independence and the future in time, and continuously renew and improve themselves. “We trust and believe in you,” he said, “and we are hopeful that a generation is growing up that will take our country much further than where we stand today. With these sentiments, I once again celebrate your Republic Day and wish you all health and happiness.”
In the final part of the ceremony, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Özata stated that through the Children’s University, they aim to help preschool, primary, and secondary school students become familiar with scientific and artistic research methods at an early age, fostering their growth as well-rounded individuals of the modern age. He went on to explain that the Children’s University will continue to organize educational programs, science and nature camps, exhibitions, science schools, and hands-on learning activities across various fields. Prof. Dr. Özata concluded his speech by thanking everyone who contributed to the organization of the Republic Day program.
Following the speeches, the event continued with colorful stage performances by students. Preschoolers from 30 Ağustos Victory Primary School and students from Ahi Evran Primary School captivated the audience with their well-prepared shows. The program also featured recitations of the poems “Çanakkale Martyrs” and “The Flag”, along with a choir composed of students from the Faculty of Education’s Mathematics Education and Preschool Education Departments, who delivered a moving concert that filled the hall with the spirit of the Republic. The celebration area also included clown performances, traditional children’s games, face painting, food and beverage offerings, a memory corner, and Republic-themed display activities, creating a festive and joyful atmosphere.
