The Faculty of Agriculture of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University and the Kırşehir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Ministry of Justice co-hosted a talk titled “Productive Hands, Reclaimed Lives: Agricultural Production and Cooperation in Prisons.” The event took place on October 23, 2025, at the Neşet Ertaş Hall of the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center, with the participation of Kırşehir Chief Public Prosecutor Oğuz Şükrü Ener, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Özata, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Selahattin Çınar, academic and administrative staff, and students.

Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Selahattin Çınar delivered the opening speech, stating that they wanted to bring together Chief Public Prosecutor Oğuz Şükrü Ener — who has a passion for agriculture — with the students. Expressing his pleasure that Prosecutor Ener would share his experience in the field of agriculture with the students, Çınar thanked everyone who attended the event.

The talk then continued under the moderation of Prof. Dr. Emre Şirin, a faculty member of the Faculty of Agriculture. During the session, Kırşehir Chief Public Prosecutor Oğuz Şükrü Ener shared that his interest in agriculture began in his childhood and spoke about agricultural production activities in Kırşehir Open Prisons. Emphasizing their institutional efforts to contribute to agricultural production, Ener explained that they raise cattle on their lands and operate four greenhouses. He also noted that they grow barley and forage crops on lands without irrigation facilities. Prosecutor Ener added that they receive support from Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Faculty of Agriculture in carrying out these activities. Expressing his satisfaction with this collaboration, he also stated that inmates receive training to help them adapt to social life.

At the end of the event, Kırşehir Chief Public Prosecutor Oğuz Şükrü Ener was presented with a plaque and a certificate by Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Selahattin Çınar and Faculty of Medicine faculty member Prof. Dr. Harun Çiftçi. The event concluded with a group photo taken with the students.
