As part of the 2025 Year of the Family, the Department of Midwifery of the Faculty of Health Sciences organized an event titled “Premarital Counseling Seminar.” The event took place on October 15, 2025, at the 15 July National Will Hall of the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center. It was attended by Dr. Serkan Sağlam, Provincial Director of Family and Social Services, and his team, as well as academic and administrative staff and students.

The seminar began with an opening speech by Dr. Halime Aydemir, Head of the Department of Midwifery. Aydemir stated that the program was organized to emphasize the importance of family within the scope of the 2025 Family Year and expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed to the organization of the event.

The event continued with the Premarital Counseling Seminar presented by Psychologist Burcu Taş. In her presentation, Taş discussed the partner selection process, love languages, expectations from marriage, marital life skills, and shared examples from research findings. She emphasized the importance of self-awareness, developing realistic expectations, and effective communication as key factors for a healthy marriage.


At the end of the seminar, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Psychologist Burcu Taş.
