The Risk Assessment Center of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) under the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Türkiye has reclassified Kırşehir as part of the high-risk earthquake zones. In this context, the university’s AFAD Coordination Office launched Disaster Awareness Training sessions as of October 14, 2025.

The training sessions were conducted by AFAD Deputy Coordinator and Trainer Kaan Yücekan, who informed students about appropriate actions to be taken before, during, and after disasters, with a particular focus on earthquakes — one of the most frequently occurring natural hazards. Disaster Awareness Training will be provided to all students across the university’s faculties and vocational schools through December 2025.
