With the aim of highlighting the importance of family, preserve unity within families, and provide comprehensive support in the face of current challenges, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has declared 2025 as the Year of the Family. . In this context, a panel entitled “Unity in the Family, Harmony in the Nation” was organized in collaboration with Kırşehir Governorship, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, and the Kırşehir Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services. The panel took place on October 15, 2025, at the Neşet Ertaş Hall of the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center, with participants including Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, Provincial Director of Family and Social Services Serkan Sağlam, institution heads, local officials, academic and administrative staff, and students.

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek opened the panel by highlighting the importance of coming together for the 2025 Year of the Family and emphasized that family is at the heart of society. He noted that building a strong society starts with strong families and thanked everyone who contributed to the panel.

The panel was moderated by Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Ertuğrul Yaman, who opened with brief remarks on the importance of family. Describing family as “the most important sanctuary for the individual,” Yaman went on to define family as living in accordance with human nature.

Presentations were delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vesile Şemşek from the Faculty of Theology on “A Moral Perspective on the Modern Family,” Dr. Lecturer Ayşegül Turan, Director of the Vocational School of Health Services, on “Family Strength: The Invisible Medicine for Health,” Serkan Sağlam, Provincial Director of Family and Social Services, on “Intra-Family Communication Skills,” and Dr. Lecturer Halit Ertuğrul from the Faculty of Education on “Communication of Love in the Family,” all highlighting the importance and future of family in our country.
