The traditional White Coat Ceremony at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University was held on October 14, 2025, in the July 15 National Will Hall at the Ahi Evran Congress Center. The event was attended by Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, Provincial Director of Health Assoc. Prof. Dr. Süleyman Ersoy, Chief Physician of Kırşehir Training and Research Hospital Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynel Abidin Erbesler, as well as academic and administrative staff, newly admitted medical students, and their families.

Last year’s graduate, Dr. Esra Tanrıverdi, delivered the opening speech at the event. She emphasized that the white coat is an emblem of the medical field, representing science, knowledge, purity, cleanliness, honesty, justice, and loyalty. Dr. Tanrıverdi said, “Medicine is more than a job—it’s a lifetime commitment to learning. I am certain my fellow doctors will meet every challenge without giving up and continue to save lives.”

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş began his address by denouncing Israel’s unprecedented violence in Gaza, where tens of thousands of civilians—including children, women, the elderly, the sick, doctors, and healthcare workers—have been killed indiscriminately. He called for the continuation of the boycott to help prevent such tragedies in the future. Prof. Dr. Güneş told the new Ahi doctors that the Faculty of Medicine would prepare them for the future using modern teaching methods, in keeping with its motto “Journey to Excellence in the Footsteps of Akhism.” He further noted the university’s impressive progress in quality initiatives since 2015, pointing to the Integrated Quality Management System (BKYS), developed in-house and now adopted by 23 universities. As a result, the Faculty of Medicine has been awarded a five-year full institutional accreditation by YÖKAK. Prof. Dr. Güneş ended by wishing the students a career where their white coats remain as pure as on their first day and thanked all those who contributed to the event.
