A cooperation protocol was signed between Kırşehir Ahi Evran University and Gaza Islamic University. The signing ceremony took place on August 14, 2025, at the Rectorate. The event was attended by Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and former Rector of Gaza Islamic University Prof. Dr. Kamalain Kamel Shaat, Dr. Hatim Oweyda from the International Relations Unit of Gaza Islamic University, Abdurrahman İsam, President of the Palestinian Students Association in Ankara, and KAEU International Relations Office Coordinator, Lecturer Yusuf İslam Sürücü.
Within the framework of the international educational cooperation protocol, which examines reciprocal collaboration opportunities between the two universities, the aim is to further advance the existing cultural and educational cooperation between Turkiye and Palestine. The protocol also plans for both universities to strive for collaboration in education and research in their respective fields of interest. Additionally, to the extent possible, both universities will encourage cooperation among faculty members, departments, research institutes, and students under the provisions of the signed protocol.
Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, who emphasized that the university will continue to support the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people and strengthen academic solidarity, extended his thanks to Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Gaza Islamic University Prof. Dr. Kamalain Kamel Shaat and his accompanying delegation.
