A meeting with guidance counselors working in Kırşehir was organized by the KAEU Rectorate. Held on July 18, 2025, at the Yunus Emre Conference Hall, the meeting was attended by Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Musa Özata and Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, Secretary General Dr. Hüseyin İlter, Kırşehir Provincial Directorate of National Education Branch Manager Süleyman Aydınoğlu, deans, directors, academic and administrative staff, as well as guidance counselors.
Speaking at the meeting, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil stated that although Kırşehir Ahi Evran University is a young institution, being only 19 years old, it has managed to earn its place among successful universities. He noted that various events are planned for next year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the university’s foundation and emphasized that the university actively collaborates with local institutions to promote integration between the university and the city. “Our work at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University is guided by the motto ‘In the Footsteps of Ahi-Order: Science, Art, and Morality,’” said Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, adding that the university continues its journey in quality assurance processes under the motto “In the Footsteps of Ahi Order: A Journey to Excellence.”
Providing information about the academic structure of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil stated that the university consists of five campuses: the Central (Bağbaşı) Campus, Cacabey Campus, Kaman Campus, Mucur Campus, and Çiçekdağı Campus. He noted that the university comprises 10 faculties, 3 graduate schools, 3 schools, 7 vocational schools, and 22 research and application centers, and continues its educational activities with a highly qualified academic staff. Continuing his remarks, Prof. Dr. Karahocagil emphasized their efforts to increase the number of faculties and announced that some new departments had recently been established and started to admit students. He added: “We have launched the Big Data Analytics, Renewable Energy Technologies, and Smart Greenhouse Technologies programs at the Vocational School of Technical Sciences, and the Smart Infrastructure Technologies program at Kaman Vocational School. Student admissions to these programs will begin this year. We have also applied to open the Game Development and Programming program at Mucur Vocational School and are currently awaiting the outcome.”
In the continuation of the meeting, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil also touched upon the recent developments in the physical infrastructure of our university. He stated, “All the faculty buildings that were lacking in our Central Campus have now been constructed and are being used for educational activities.” He also noted that the construction of the Faculty of Health Sciences building is currently underway. In addition, a science center is under construction at the university, and preparations for the establishment of a Technopark will begin soon. Alongside the physical growth, Prof. Dr. Karahocagil highlighted two major achievements of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University: its quality assurance efforts and pilot university projects. He explained that quality assurance processes began in 2015 and that significant progress has been made since then. He emphasized that in 2018, the university became the first and only public university to receive the Quality Management Certificate covering all of its units. He further stated that in 2022, the university obtained trademark registration and patent approval from the Turkish Patent Office for its Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS) and the Ahi Competency-Based Education Portal (AYDEP). IQMS has also been sold to over 20 universities, he added. Prof. Dr. Karahocagil also underlined that the university has received a Five-Year Full Accreditation Certificate, which is internationally recognized. As another major achievement, Prof. Dr. Karahocagil pointed out that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University was selected as a pilot university within the scope of the Regional Development-Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Program. He stated that within the framework of the pilot university projects, the university has launched seven initiatives: Roughage Production Project Walnut-Oriented Development Project Clustering in Thermal Greenhouses Project Geothermal-Based Rehabilitation Center (JEOKAREM) Project Traditional and Complementary Medicine (GETAT) Applications Project Athlete Health Research, Application, and Thermal Rehabilitation Center (SAUTER) Project Geothermal Resource Supply and Delivery to Project Sites Project.
Afterwards, KAEU faculty deans and vocational school directors provided information about their schools. Afterwards, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil answered questions from the teachers. The meeting concluded after a group commemorative photo was taken.
