Standing out as a role model in Turkish higher education with its achievements in quality assurance, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University continues to demonstrate its success on the international stage. In this context, Ganja State University of Azerbaijan visited KAEU on July 14, 2025. The delegation will continue their visit until July 18, 2025, during which they will have the opportunity to observe KAEU’s projects and activities firsthand.

As part of the ongoing visits, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, which attaches great importance to international bilateral cooperation, signed a bilateral cooperation protocol with Ganja State University of Azerbaijan in the field of Quality Management Systems. The signing ceremony took place on July 16, 2025, at the rectorate and was attended by Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil; Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, Prof. Dr. Musa Özata, and Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş; Secretary General Dr. Hüseyin İlter; Ganja State University Innovation Director Assoc. Prof. Vasif Hasanov; Coordinator of International Relations Assoc. Prof. Ismayil Ismayilov; Head of the Quality Management Department Assoc. Prof. Elturan Yusifov; Head of the Education Department Dr. Asif Hasanov; Head of the Information Technology Office Dr. Razim Aliyev; Head of the Technology Transfer Office; and KAEU International Relations Office Coordinator Lect. Yusuf İslam Sürücü.

With the protocol signed between Kırşehir Ahi Evran University and Ganja State University, the aim is to strengthen academic, technical, and administrative cooperation in the areas of quality management systems, internal quality assurance mechanisms, Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS) practices, and process-based quality management, building upon previously signed agreements. The newly signed protocol also includes provisions for technical support and consultancy activities related to the establishment, improvement, and monitoring of quality assurance systems; the promotion, implementation, training, and pilot applications of the IQMS; the exchange of best practices based on quality standards; and collaboration in joint trainings, seminars, and workshops. Additionally, the protocol covers cooperation in survey and data analysis, academic staff exchanges, joint projects and publications, and the organization of scientific events on quality management. Within the scope of the protocol, both parties may also enhance academic cooperation through joint master’s and doctoral theses, project coordination, and consultancy services, provided these are related to quality assurance systems.

In an effort to further strengthen the bilateral relations between our university and Ganja State University, it was decided to name a classroom in KAEU Faculty of Arts and Sciences after Nizami Ganjavi, and a classroom in one of the faculties of Ganja State University after Ahi Evran-ı Veli.

Commenting on the matter, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil expressed his satisfaction with the international recognition of the university’s achievements in quality processes. Emphasizing that efforts in quality enhancement will continue without interruption, Rector Karahocagil wished that the signed protocol would be beneficial for both institutions.
