Large-scale investment projects underway on KAEU campus are drawing attention with their high physical progress rates. Projects in the fields of health, science, and landscaping are progressing simultaneously, making significant contributions to the development of KAEU and the city. In this context, the building of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS), which began undergoing structural reinforcement on June 15, 2024, has been reconstructed under the 2019 Earthquake Regulation. With 90% of the reinforcement work completed, the FEAS building is nearing completion with a renewed appearance and strengthened structure. Scheduled to open for use in the new academic year, the building has also been designed to be energy self-sufficient by installing a rooftop solar energy system. Kırşehir Ahi Evran University continues to prioritize providing students with modern and well-equipped educational facilities. In the coming days, following the completion of the bidding process, reinforcement works will also begin for the Vocational School of Technical Sciences building and the Indoor Sports Hall.
With the New Faculty of Health Sciences Building, KAEU will Study in More Modern Classrooms
Construction of the newly initiated Faculty of Health Sciences building at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University is progressing rapidly. The project, launched on March 14, 2025, is supported by the Ahi Evran University Association of Construction, Development, Education, and Support, which was established under the leadership of local organizations, including the Kırşehir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kırşehir Commodity Exchange, Kırşehir Union of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, Kırşehir Chamber of Agriculture, Kırşehir Dairy Producers Association, Kırşehir Red Meat Producers Association, and the Kırşehir Sheep and Goat Breeders Association. Excavation work is nearing completion on the three-story building, which will be located on the central campus of KAEU. The building will also house the Vocational School of Health Services alongside the Faculty of Health Sciences. The structure is planned to cover a total enclosed area of 16,000 square meters and will include an open parking lot with a capacity of 119 vehicles. The basement floor will include 22 laboratories and 2 amphitheater-style classrooms for the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Vocational School of Health Services. On the ground floor, there will be 11 classrooms, 4 seminar rooms, 2 student study rooms, and 44 academic/administrative offices for both units. The first floor will feature 12 classrooms and another 44 academic/administrative offices. On the second floor, the Vocational School of Health Services will have 22 academic/administrative offices, while the Faculty of Health Sciences will include 6 classrooms, 6 laboratories, and 22 academic/administrative offices. The third and final floor has been designed as the administrative level, with management offices designated for both the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Vocational School of Health Services, as well as technical units and a shared meeting room. Once completed, this project will allow KAEU students to pursue their education in a dedicated, modern, and well-equipped facility. Additionally, the university’s capacity in the field of health education will be significantly enhanced.
KAEU will Have a Science Center
Another significant structure being built within KAEU is the Cacabey Science Center. The project is a joint initiative of the Kırşehir Governorship, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, and Polat Energy, and its construction has commenced within the central campus of KAEU. Currently, the project has reached a physical completion rate of approximately 15–20%. It will feature a 2,500-square-meter enclosed space, including a 225-square-meter planetarium as part of the design. While excavation work has been completed, the structural foundation production is nearing completion. The construction is being supervised and coordinated by KAEU Department of Construction and Technical Affairs.
Creating More Social Spaces for KAEU Students with the New Student Square
Meanwhile, work continues rapidly as part of the 2nd Phase Infrastructure and Square Arrangement Construction Project. Within this scope, two areas in our university’s central campus have been designated for the development of squares and social facilities. The first of these is the Student Square Project, which will be located in the area encompassing the Faculty of Theology, the mosque, dining halls, the Faculty of Science and Letters, and the library. Infrastructure work is being carried out across 18,000 square meters, designed to allow for future development. The Student Square will include seating areas, social spaces, walking paths, and a bicycle lane. In addition, with the support of Kaman Municipality, the project also plans to feature a 1,000-square-meter self-cleaning biological pond, offering a unique and environmentally friendly element to the space.
Volleyball and Basketball Courts to Be Built Around KAEU Faculty of Medicine
As part of the 2nd Phase Infrastructure and Square Arrangement Construction Project, various improvements are also planned around the Faculty of Medicine and the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center. One key component of the project is the construction of sports courts near the Faculty of Medicine, which will begin following the completion of the bidding process. With the support of Kaman Municipality, volleyball and basketball courts will be built in accordance with FIBA (International Basketball Federation) standards. Another part of the project, for which the bidding process has been finalized, includes the afforestation and construction of a new parking area around the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center. As part of the broader landscaping efforts, 888 broadleaf and coniferous trees and 52,308 shrubs will be planted in the new square areas near the Student Square and the Faculty of Medicine, giving the campus a more natural and vibrant appearance.
KAEU Transitions to Energy-Efficient Modern Lighting Systems
In addition to ongoing infrastructure projects, a new transformation has been initiated in all lighting systems across our university. To promote energy efficiency, all existing lighting is being replaced with modern and technological LED lighting systems. Also known as smart lighting, this system not only reduces electricity consumption but also lowers energy usage by up to half during nighttime hours. Furthermore, the installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations is also among the planned projects for the near future at KAEU.
