KAEU students contributed to the ERASMUS+ KA154 project titled “Developing a Youth Strategy for Green Deal,” supported by the Turkish National Agency under the Directorate for EU Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The project, held between May 15–18, 2025 and hosted by Kırıkkale University, was co-coordinated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Yasin Can Gönültaş from KAEU Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
The Developing a Youth Strategy for Green Deal Project is supported by the Turkish National Agency and implemented by Kırıkkale University. The project aims to contribute to building a sustainable future in line with the European Green Deal, which was adopted by the European Union in 2019, by increasing young people's environmental awareness. Within this scope, it seeks to develop strategies that support young people in adopting environmentally friendly lifestyles, implementing innovative ideas, and producing solutions to global environmental problems.
As part of the Kırıkkale Workshop of the ERASMUS+ KA154 project titled “Developing a Youth Strategy for Green Deal,” a four-day awareness program on environmental issues and climate change was held, featuring training sessions delivered by eight experts in the field. The workshop brought together students from KAEU as well as from Nevşehir, Aksaray, Niğde, and Kırıkkale. Students who discussed environmental and climate-related issues to develop strategies aligned with the Green Deal were awarded internationally recognized Youthpass Certificates at the end of the workshop.
As part of the program, it is also planned that young participants will prepare a strategy document through activities to be carried out via online platforms. The project will conclude with a summit in October themed “Green Deal and Youth,” with the participation of high-level officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Turkish National Agency.
