Osman Çakır, Lecturer in the Photography and Camerawork Program, and Ali Kaymak, Lecturer in the Visual Communication Program at KAEU Mucur Vocational School, were awarded first prize at the 2nd Sivas International Film Festival for their documentary film. The festival, held in Sivas on May 26-28, featured a variety of cultural activities for three days.
Nearly 700 films from 67 countries were submitted to the festival, where works in the categories of documentary and fiction were evaluated, and the award-winning films were presented to art enthusiasts. In this context, the documentary film “An Intellectual in the Steppe” (Bozkır’da Bir Aydın), directed by KAEU Mucur Vocational School lecturers Osman Çakır and Ali Kaymak and focusing on Aydın Battal, was awarded first prize.
Commenting on the achievement, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil expressed his happiness at the success of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University faculty members in the field of artistic activities, emphasizing that the university makes significant contributions not only in science but also in the socio-cultural sphere. Rector Karahocagil congratulated Lecturers Osman Çakır and Ali Kaymak on winning first prize at the 2nd Sivas International Film Festival and wished them continued success in their future works.
