The event titled “Career Compass: Career Journey Map”, organized by the Psychological Counseling and Guidance (PCG) Student Community of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, was held on May 16, 2025, at the July 15 National Will Hall of the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center with high attendance. The conference served as a significant meeting point for university students and academics. The event was attended by Vice Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, academic and administrative staff, PCG student communities from various universities, guidance counselors, and representatives from professional groups within public institutions.

The opening speech of the event was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Davut Aydın, Head of the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling. Aydın emphasized the importance of such events in guiding students on their journey of professional development.

Following, the participants gave a speech in the following sessions. In the first session, Prof. Dr. Ramazan Arı delivered a presentation titled “Psychological Counseling Processes,” where he shared insights and experiences about the profession, and particularly highlighted the significance of one of the core principles of psychological counseling, "effective listening to the client".

Next, Prof. Dr. Erdal Hamarta, in his presentation titled “My School, My Profession, My Boundaries,” offered valuable insights into the challenges encountered at the beginning of the professional journey and how to overcome them. He also made important observations on the ethical responsibilities and professional competencies of psychological counselors.

Lastly, Prof. Dr. Süleyman Barbaros Yalçın delivered a presentation titled “My Career, My Future,” in which he emphasized the importance of career planning and highlighted that choosing a profession is a lifelong journey of discovery. Yalçın added that in today’s changing world, a career is no longer a fixed path, but a multifaceted and dynamic process.

The conference ended in a colorful way with a raffle draw and a performance by the band “3ü1arada.” Throughout the event, participants not only gained valuable knowledge but also enjoyed an entertaining experience.

While providing university students with guidance on their professional journeys, the event, supported by ÜNIDES, also aimed to contribute to young people’s career planning and development.
