The “From Data to Decision: National Artificial Intelligence Summit” was held under the auspices of the Parliamentary Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM) Numan Kurtulmuş at the TBMM Ceremony Hall. The summit, taking place on May 8, 2025, addressed the current state, areas of development, and strategic future of Türkiye’s artificial intelligence policies. Representing KAEU at the summit were Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Özata, Artificial Intelligence Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Ziya Olpak, and Head of the Department of Turkish Education at the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Abdülkerim Karadeniz.
The opening speeches of the summit were delivered by Parliamentary Speaker of TBMM Numan Kurtulmuş, Vice President of Türkiye Cevdet Yılmaz, and Chairman of the TBMM Artificial Intelligence Research Commission Fatih Dönmez. During his address, Fatih Dönmez emphasized that artificial intelligence is no longer an option but a necessity that has become central to global economic competitiveness, national security, education policies, legal norms, and ethical principles. He stated that Türkiye is striving to reach the most advanced technologies in this field. He also expressed his belief that the knowledge, recommendations, and collaborations generated at the summit would contribute meaningfully to Türkiye’s artificial intelligence roadmap and thanked all stakeholders for their participation.
In the sessions held during the summit, experts from various disciplines discussed the multifaceted impacts of artificial intelligence. The first session addressed the relationship between "Artificial Intelligence and Politics", while the following session, titled "How Will Artificial Intelligence Change Our Lives?", focused on the transformative effects of technology on everyday life. In the second session, comprehensive evaluations were presented on topics such as "Legal Framework and Ethical Regulations in Artificial Intelligence", "The Impact of AI on the Labor Market and Sectoral Applications", and "The AI Ecosystem", covering developments in fields such as law, economics, and industry.
Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil emphasized the benefits of participating in this significant event, stating that it was valuable for Kırşehir Ahi Evran University to be part of such an important organization. He highlighted the value of contributing academically to national-level initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence and fostering collaboration, and extended his gratitude to the esteemed academic staff who represented the university at the summit.
