An Accreditation Meeting was organized by the Directorate of Quality Assurance System in Education at our university. The meeting, held on April 29, 2025, at the Fuat Sezgin Hall of the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center, was attended by KAEU Vice Rector and Quality Management Coordinator Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, along with academic and administrative staff.
At the meeting, Vice Rector and Quality Management Coordinator Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek stated that 2025 was declared the year of accreditation breakthrough at Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, and noted that 13 of KAEU programs applied for accreditation within this year. Highlighting the importance of accredited programs in terms of education and training processes, Şimşek added that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University has made significant progress in its quality initiatives. He emphasized that KAEU became the first public university in Türkiye to obtain the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certificate across all its units — a national first. He said, "Kırşehir Ahi Evran University is a pioneer in quality,". Şimşek further underlined that KAEU has received numerous internationally recognized quality certificates and is also an EFQM Excellence Model and 5-Year Full Accreditation holder. He explained that program accreditation certificates in the international higher education system are granted based on the evaluation of specific standards and criteria, and noted that five departments at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University have been accredited so far. Stressing the importance of accreditation processes, Şimşek emphasized that everyone, both academic and administrative units, must contribute to the process, and added, “As Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, we must meet all the required standards and criteria to show that the process is functioning properly,”. He concluded by underlining the need for thorough preparation and diligent work to be ready for external evaluations, and thanked the participants, wishing the meeting to be fruitful.
Following the speech by Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, Prof. Dr. Menderes Ünal, Head of the Curriculum Support Office under the Educational Quality Assurance System Coordination Unit, delivered a speech titled “Program Development, Update, and Evaluation.” The meeting concluded after a Q&A session where participants’ questions were addressed.
