Rector of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil participated in a breakfast event hosted by the Kırşehir Governorship on the occasion of 10 January Working Journalists’ Day. The event, held at the Kırşehir Teachers' Lodge, brought together members of the press. The breakfast program was attended by Kırşehir Governor Murat Sefa Demiryürek, Kırşehir Chief Public Prosecutor Oğuz Şükrü Erener, Rector of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Deputy Governor İsmail Çetinkaya, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Col. Ahmet Yıldırım, Kırşehir Provincial Police Chief Erdoğan Kartal, as well as representatives from national and local media outlets and numerous other guests.

Speaking at the event of Working Journalists’ Day, the Provincial Chairman of the Global Journalists Council and President of the Kırşehir Ahi Journalists Association Murat Sürmeli highlighted the challenges of the journalism profession, stating, “It is crucial to convey the most reliable information to the public fearlessly.” Following him, the President of the Kırşehir Journalists Association Mehmet Emin Turpçu shared insights into the difficulties faced by local journalists in the field. He emphasized the demanding nature of the tasks undertaken by each press member. Lastly, on behalf of the journalists, the President of the Press Council Association Sait Yanık addressed the audience. He underlined the dedication of visual and audio media organizations, which fulfill their duties under challenging conditions regardless of the season. Yanık also highlighted the significant contributions of the journalism profession to the public’s right to access information.

Speaking at the program, Kırşehir Governor Murat Sefa Demiryürek highlighted that January 10, 1961, when Law No. 212, which granted social and economic rights to journalists, came into effect, is recognized in our country as Working Journalists' Day. Governor Demiryürek stated, “The journalism profession, which plays a significant role in the development of our democracy and the formation of a solid social structure, also serves an essential function in informing and raising public awareness, as well as addressing societal issues and shaping public opinion.” He extended his congratulations to all journalists who dedicate themselves to their profession and work selflessly despite various challenges, wishing them success in their endeavors on January 10 Working Journalists' Day.

Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil shared a message on the occasion of January 10 Working Journalists’ Day. In his message, Rector Karahocagil stated: “It is of great importance for our country’s democracy and the journalism profession that the press operates with impartiality, ethics, principles, a commitment to benefiting society, respect for human rights, and adherence to the rule of law. I extend my gratitude to all journalists who fulfill their duties with dedication, regardless of time constraints, and I celebrate January 10 Working Journalists’ Day.”
