One of the significant projects of KAEU in the health field, the Athlete Health Research, Application, and Thermal Rehabilitation Center (SAUTER), makes substantial contributions to the region for athlete health and health tourism. Opened a few months ago, SAUTER ensures the effective utilization of regional geothermal resources and aims to bring rehabilitation practices to an innovative level. Additionally, through the SAUTER project, our university seeks to lead the development of a new sector in health tourism and athlete health. Within this scope, to gather information about SAUTER, Dr. Fatih Seyran, President of the International Health Tourism Institute, Education Coordinator Prof. Dr. Nermin Gürhan, and their delegation visited Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil.
Dr. Fatih Seyran, President of the International Health Tourism Institute, emphasized that SAUTER is a significant project for the development of health tourism at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. He stated that they had the opportunity to gain insights into the center and examine it on-site. Highlighting that the university's visionary project contributes significant value to the country through athlete health and health tourism activities spread across the region, Seyran congratulated Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil and the entire team involved in the project on behalf of the International Health Tourism Institute.
Rector Karahocagil stated that SAUTER aims not only to support regional economic development but also to enhance national and international promotion and marketing efforts while strengthening collaboration and competition, and added, “The center conducts projects focused on protecting the health of individuals who exercise and athletes, improving their performance, and enhancing their quality of life.” Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil emphasized his belief that these projects will significantly contribute to the health tourism vision of both Turkiye and the region and continued: “Kırşehir Ahi Evran University is striving to make our province recognized in health tourism through SAUTER and other health-related projects. In this context, we will continue to improve our partnerships and marketing processes with national and international institutions we collaborate with.”
During the visit, which took place at the rectorate on December 30, 2024, Rector Karahocagil was accompanied by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, Secretary-General Dr. Hüseyin İlter, and SAUTER Coordinator Assoc. Dr. Hakkı Çağdaş Basat.
