The Quality Management Coordination Unit of KAEU organized a student meeting titled “Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil Meets with Student Quality Ambassadors.” The event took place on December 16, 2024, in the Neşet Ertaş Hall of the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center. The meeting was attended by Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek and Prof. Dr. Musa Özata, Secretary-General Dr. Hüseyin İlter, academic and administrative staff, as well as a large number of students. Since the launch of quality initiatives in 2016, our university has successfully continued its efforts, aiming for a more comprehensive quality management process with active student participation.
The opening speech of the meeting was delivered by Göksu Ceren Tüysüz, a student from the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Head of Student Quality Ambassadors. In her speech, Tüysüz emphasized that quality is a frequently implemented concept across all areas of our university. She stated that quality signifies continuous improvement and development within the university and described quality initiatives as an extension of the Akhism tradition, focusing on a human-centered management approach.
Following the speech by Göksu Ceren Tüysüz, Lecturer Sibel Koyun, the Academic Program Advisor for Student Quality Ambassadors, took the floor. Koyun emphasized that the Student Quality Ambassadors Program makes a significant impact not only academically but also socially and culturally. She explained that through this program, students actively participate in academic processes and play an integral role in the university's quality initiatives. Koyun further underlined that the quality processes contribute to the development of both students and the university, making a meaningful difference in their educational journey
The meeting continued with the speech of Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil. Rector Karahocagil stated that the target audience of quality studies is our students and that quality studies are planning the future with the knowledge of the past and the current situation analysis of today. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil explained that quality studies are a team work and that one of the most important stakeholders of the team is the students, and stated that such programs encourage the development of our university and encourage our students to participate more actively in quality studies. In his speech, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil emphasized that the quality process is another field of education that prepares our students for life and noted that it is important for our university, which has 8 years of experience in quality studies, to come together with students with such meetings. Rector Karahocagil mentioned that KAEU Faculty of Medicine received full accreditation with the intense contributions of students after 6 years of intensive work, emphasized the importance of the contributions of student boards in this process and added that they aim to carry out quality studies, which our university sees as the continuation of the tradition of Akhism, together with students in the following processes. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, who also gave information about the contributions of our university's quality studies to students, noted that experience in quality studies is among the features sought in the private sector. Explaining that within the scope of our university's social transcript study, students' social activities during their education periods are recorded and documented in this social transcript, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahococagil said that quality studies will contribute significantly to the careers of students after graduation.
