Thousands of saplings were planted in kırşehir. Within the November 11 National Forestation Day, declared by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in 2019, thousands of saplings were planted in Kırşehir and nationwide. Kırşehir Governor Murat Sefa Demiryürek, Kırşehir Chief Public Prosecutor Oğuz Şükrü Ener, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Vice Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Musa Özata, provincial administrators, representatives of state institutions and organizations, citizens, and students participated in the tree planting event took place at Kırşehir Aşıkpaşa Natural Park on November 11, 2024.

The theme of this year's National Forestation Day was "Breath for Humanity" to highlight humanitarian crises in the Middle East, particularly focusing on the recent human rights issues associated with Israel’s attacks in Gaza. The event started with the folklore show and continued with the opening speeches at Aşıkpaşa Natural Park. After the speeches, protocol members, citizens, and students planted the saplings and watered the newly planted trees.  Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil noted that saplings would grow out and such events would raise awareness of forests and the environment in our society.
