The 101. anniversary of the foundation of the Turkish Republic was celebrated with a joyful celebration ceremony. The ceremony took place on October 28-29, 2024 was attended by the Governor of Kırşehir Murat Sefa Demiryürek, Kırşehir Deputy Necmettin Erkan and Metin İlhan, Mayor of Kırşehir Selahattin Ekicioğlu, Kırşehir Chief Public Prosecutor Oğuz Şükrü Ener, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Vice Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, the city administration, various institutes managers, various NGO representatives, teachers, students, and citizens. The celebration ceremonies started with the wreath placing ceremony on Atatürk Bust on October 28, 2024, in Cacabey Square and continued with the Governor of Kırşehir Murat Sefa Demiryürek's accepting the greetings in his office on October 29, 2024.
Governor Demiryürek who accepted the greetings in his office celebrated the Republic Day of the citizens with protocol members. The ceremony included a parade, folklore dances, a janissary band concert, and poem recitals at Cacabey Square. After the Republic Day Celebration Ceremony, citizens marched to Cacabey Square in the evening with torches in their hands. The ceremony ended after various activities in Cacabey Square.
Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil stated that they came together to celebrate this meaningful day with enthusiasm and added that such events symbolized unity and would continue to keep the spirit of the Republic Day alive and pass it on to future generations.
Within the scope of the October 29 Republic Day celebration event, a conference titled “The Road to the Republic and the Republic Day Celebrations” was organized by the KAEU Faculty Member of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Department of History Prof. Dr. Bengül Bolat.
