A Cyber Homeland Program Cybersecurity Training Cooperation Protocol was signed between the Ahiler Development Agency and Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. Within the scope of the protocol, signed on October 14, 2024, between Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil and Ahiler Development Agency Secretary General Bekir Varol, cybersecurity training will be provided to students studying at KAEU as part of the Cyber Homeland Program.
In order to increase the awareness of our youth regarding digital technologies, development agencies are designing various programs and projects focused on technology-driven entrepreneurship in fields such as cybersecurity, software, and artificial intelligence. One such initiative is the Cyber Homeland Program, which focuses on training qualified cybersecurity experts through an education curriculum and program aimed at building capacity, raising awareness, and motivation. The Cyber Homeland Program was developed across the country through development agencies with the goal of training qualified personnel in cybersecurity and boosting youth employment. The cybersecurity program develops various modules aimed at fostering tech entrepreneurship in areas such as Software, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Mobile Application and Game Development. The 2025 phase of the Turkiye Cyber Homeland Program, implemented under the protocol signed between KAEU and the Ahiler Development Agency, has now begun. The program aims to meet the country's need for cybersecurity experts by raising awareness among students at our university, identifying potential talents, and supporting them through education and skill development activities. This will help encourage and support their career planning in the fields of digital and cybersecurity technologies.
In his remarks on the subject, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil noted that the rapid spread of information and communication systems worldwide has led to these systems playing an increasingly important role in nearly every aspect of life, however, this rapid digital transformation also brought certain risks. Rector Karahocagil emphasized that equipping young people with the skills required by the digital age would strengthen our ability to protect the nation’s digital boundaries. "The Cyber Homeland Program is the most critical element for us as a country in achieving this goal," he said. Highlighting that the Cyber Homeland Program was a comprehensive project aimed at training competent, well-equipped generations capable of competing internationally in the field of cybersecurity, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil added that they were fully committed to fulfilling their role in this important initiative.
