An Orthotics and Prosthetics Laboratory was opened at KAEU Vocational School of Health Services with the support of the philanthropist and owner of Ortotek Company, Mustafa Düger. The opening ceremony, held on October 7, 2024, at the Vocational School of Health Services, was attended by the Governor of Kırşehir Murat Sefa Demiryürek, the Mayor of Kırşehir Selahattin Ekicioğlu, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Vice Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, Secretary General Dr. Hüseyin İlter, academic and administrative staff, and students.
Before the opening, Seyde Büşra Kodak, a faculty member at the Vocational School of Health Services, provided detailed information about the laboratory. Highlighting the importance of the laboratory for hands-on student training, Kodak expressed her best wishes for the Orthotics and Prosthetics Laboratory to be beneficial for our university and students.
After Seyde Büşra Kodak, philanthropist and owner of Ortotek Company Mustafa Düger gave a speech. In his speech, Düger stated that they had established a highly equipped laboratory for the Orthopedic Prosthetics and Orthotics Program at the Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Vocational School of Health Services. He emphasized that students in the Prosthetics and Orthotics Program would be trained both theoretically and practically in this laboratory. Düger said, “We will utilize all the knowledge we have gained so far at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Prosthetics and Orthotics department, and the young people we train here will become some of the most sought-after professionals in Turkiye.”
Following Mustafa Düger’s speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil emphasized that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University has always supported such initiatives in the field of health. He pointed out that hands-on skills and developed activities in the health field were crucial for students, saying, "We place great importance on our students gaining the necessary competencies." Rector Karahocagil mentioned that they achieved their goals through the Akhism Competency-Based Education Project (AYDEP), which aimed to help students demonstrate their skills and competencies, adding that these efforts were inspired by the principles of Akhism. He also emphasized the university-city partnership, saying that they always strived to keep it strong and announced that more laboratories would be brought to the university for the students. He thanked everyone who contributed to the establishment of the laboratory and wished the Orthotics and Prosthetics Laboratory to be beneficial for the university and students.
After the speech of Rector of KAEUProf. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Mayor Selahattin Ekicioğlu thanked philanthropist and owner of Ortotek Company Mustafa Düger for donating the laboratory to the university, which would benefit the students.
Following Mayor Selahattin Ekicioğlu, Governor of Kırşehir Murat Sefa Demiryürek took the floor. In his speech, Governor Demiryürek emphasized that the projects of our university contributed not only to our city but to the entire country, and he stated that he would continue to support Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. He expressed his belief that the Orthotics and Prosthetics Laboratory would greatly benefit the students, thanked everyone involved in establishing the laboratory, and wished for it to be beneficial for our university and students.
