The Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS) continues to gain recognition nationwide, contributing to the development of institutions. The usage of the system by many universities and various organizations has increased its visibility and made it a subject of workshops. In this context, an Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS) Training Workshop was held at Erciyes University. During the "Integrated Quality Management System Training Workshop" organized by ERÜ Quality and Strategy Development Coordination (KASGEK), Vice-Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek and Quality Coordinator Assistant Ekrem Öztürk provided detailed information about the system. The workshop was attended by Rector of KAEÜ Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Rector of Erciyes University Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun, and ERÜ Quality and Strategy Development Coordinator Prof. Dr. Mustafa Koçer, along with academic and administrative staff. Before the workshop, Rector Karahocagil visited Rector Altun in his office.

IQMS of KAEU Embraces an Akhism-Inspired Approach

Speaking at the workshop, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil made evaluations about the national software IQMS. He emphasized that the quality approaches were based on an "Akhism-inspired" understanding, aiming for efficiency, adopting innovative norms, and aligning with the national technology initiatives. Rector Karahocagil expressed his happiness that institutions were benefiting from this software, stating, "We focused on quality work 10 years ago. Before the Higher Education Quality Board issued regulations on quality, we began quality efforts at our university with documentation work, followed by the establishment of internal quality assurance systems."


Erciyes University Aims to Expand Quality

Rector of ERÜ Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun stated in his remarks, "Erciyes University is one of the universities that has completed the five-year quality process. We successfully passed the main evaluation process, and one of our primary duties is to spread and consolidate institutional quality processes at our university."

The Workshop will Last Two Days and be Presented to Four Different Groups

At the Integrated Quality Management System Workshop, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek and Quality Coordinator Assistant Ekrem Öztürk gave presentations on Strategic Plan Management, Process Management, and Activity Plan Management. Participants were informed about topics such as defining the Strategic Plan in IQMS (Entering SP Objectives, Strategic Plan Goals, and SP Performance Indicators), Defining University Processes in IQMS (Defining Top, Main, and Sub-processes, Defining Process Performance Parameters, Entering Performance Achievement Information, and Creating Workflows), Defining Unit Activity Plans in IQMS (Creating Activity Plans, Entering Activity Plan Achievement Information), Stakeholder Relationship Management, Performance Management, and Management of Improvement Activities. The workshop will conclude on September 24-25 with sessions presenting the software to four different groups.
