The "Art and Aesthetics in the Understanding of Ahiism" Short Film Competition Award Ceremony, organized by Kırşehir Ahi Evran University and the Ministry of National Education's Directorate General of Vocational and Technical Education, was hosted by KAEU. The award ceremony occurred on May 31, 2024, in the 15 July National Will Hall at the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center. The event was attended by Kırşehir Governor H. Mete Buhara, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, General Director of Vocational and Technical Education of the Ministry of National Education Ali Karagöz, Provincial Director of National Education Yusuf Yasin Gülşen, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek and Prof. Dr. Musa Özata, General Secretary Dr. Hüseyin İlter, representatives from public institutions and the private sector, academic and administrative staff, students, and their families.

Rector Karahocagil stated, "The Fundamental Mission of Akhism is to Raise Good Individuals who Serve Humanity and Society."
After the speech by the Provincial Director of National Education Yusuf Yasin Gülşen, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil also delivered a speech. Rector Karahocagil expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration between our university and the organization of this competition in Kırşehir, which contributed to conveying the values of Akhism to all segments of society using the universal language of art. He explained that the fundamental mission of Ahiism was to raise good individuals who served humanity and society, stating, "The indispensable moral principles in Akhismare to work and produce, to do the best one can, to consider humans as the noblest of creatures, to treat all creations as entrusted and honorable, to conduct business through consultation, to earn with one's own labor, not to deceive or be deceived, to be based on rights and justice, and to be altruistic (preferring others, society, and others over oneself).".

In his continued speech, 'Kindness is the art of humanity, and Akism is the pinnacle of this art,' said Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, and continued: 'These values, no matter how forgotten or erased, are the values of our civilization. It is our civilization that will revive these values in this age. Ahi Evran-ı Veli is famous for his saying, 'Those who come to us seeking truth and patience are from us, and those who surpass us with intellect and morality are also from us.' As Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, we place this saying at the forefront of our aims and objectives. We consider it our most important duty to raise good people who will surpass us, and become the Ahis of this era, to develop and revive their nation, homeland, and humanity."
Rector Karahocagil emphasized that the Short Film Competition on Art and Esthetics in the Understanding of Ahilik, with 90 entries from 24 provinces, was seen as a very important organization contributing to the goals and objectives of our university. He expressed the desire for this event to be diversified and expanded annually. In conclusion of his speech, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil thanked everyone involved in organizing and participating in the short film competition, congratulating the award-winning students.
Director General Karagöz: 'We Aspire for Vocational Education to Reach its Desired Position in Our Country'
After the speech by Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, the Director General of Vocational and Technical Education at the Ministry of National Education Ali Karagöz took the floor. Karagöz expressed the desire of the Directorate General of Vocational and Technical Education for vocational education to reach its desired position in our country, thanking families who send their children to vocational high schools and wish for them to acquire a profession. He emphasized the need for every young person to have a profession in today's world, stating, 'Vocational high school students should contribute to every layer of society.' Expressing their happiness to hold the short film competition in Kırşehir, the capital of Akhism, Karagöz added that they aimed to incorporate the understanding of Akhism and Chivalry into the curriculum to enable students to internalize this understanding. 'Akhism is a way of life, a philosophy,' said Director General Ali Karagöz, congratulating the students who depicted this understanding through film.
Governor Buhara: "We Should Take Ahi Evran-ı Veli's Lifestyle and Understanding as an Example."
Following the speech of the Ministry of National Education General Director Ali Karagöz, Kırşehir Governor H. Mete Buhara addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of acquiring a profession. Governor Buhara also spoke about the life of Ahi Evran-ı Veli, stating that Ahi Evran-ı Veli was a scholar and scientist, and urged them to adopt his lifestyle and understanding into their lives. Emphasizing the importance of performing their professions in the best way possible, Governor H. Mete Buhara said, "You should do your profession not only to work but also with love and by adding aesthetics to your work." Governor Buhara noted that there were high expectations from the youth of the nation and stressed the necessity of hard work for the country to reach its deserved place. At the end of his speech, Kırşehir Governor H. Mete Buhara thanked the institutions and individuals involved in organizing the competition and congratulated the students who received awards.
Following the protocol speeches, the ceremony continued with the screening of the promotional film of the Ministry of National Education General Directorate for Vocational and Technical Education and the short films that won awards. After the screening of the films, awards were presented to the students who achieved success. In the competition, the Honorable Mention Award was received by the short film named "Fakiregan" from the students of Balıkesir Fahri Kiraz Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, presented by the Provincial Director of National Education, Yusuf Yasin Gülşen.
