The "2024 University Promotion Fair," organized by the Anatolian Universities Union (AAU), took place at KAEU. Held on May 9, 2024, at the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center Foyer, the fair was attended by Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, as well as President of the Anatolian Universities Union and Rector of Erciyes University Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun, Rector of Kayseri University Prof. Dr. Kurtuluş Karamustafa, Rector of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu, Rector of Sivas Science and Technology University Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kul, Kırşehir Provincial Director of National Education Yusuf Yasin Gülşen, Vice-Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, General Secretary Dr. Hüseyin İlter, representatives from AAU member universities, academic and administrative staff, and prospective university students.
Before opening the University 2024 Promotion Fair, university rectors came together with Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil. The meeting took place at the Rectorate's office, where they exchanged ideas about the academic activities, and social and cultural events of the universities, and discussed potential collaborations.
Rector Karahocagil: "For Our Valuable Youth, We've Brought the Universities to Their Doorsteps"
After the meeting, the opening session of the 2024 University Promotion Fair was held. The opening speech was delivered first by Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, who wished success for the 2024 University Promotion Fair. Highlighting the significance of higher education as a crucial institution for preparing our youth for life, Rector Karahocagil emphasized that students should benefit from the AAU Fair, in which our university participated, in the most productive way possible. Stating, "We've brought the universities to the doorstep of our precious youth," Karahocagil underscored that promotion fairs were organized to introduce universities comprehensively. Emphasizing that the decision to choose a university, that would influence the future of the youth, was a crucial step, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil emphasized that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University was always by the side of the youth and supported them throughout the process. Expressing gratitude to everyone who supported and participated in the AAU 2024 University Promotion Fair, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, advised the youth saying, "I hope you make the best choice for your future."
After the speech by Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, AAU Term President and Rector of Erciyes University Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun took the floor and stated that the most crucial moment in young people's lives was choosing a university and planning their careers. Offering important advice to the youth, Rector Altun continued his speech: "Career planning is a vital process. Choosing a profession you love and selecting a job in which you will succeed will be one of the things that will make you happy throughout your life. As universities, we are here to support and guide you through this process." Wishing everyone success at the AAU 2024 University Promotion Fair, Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun thanked everyone involved in the process.
Following the opening speeches, the rectors of AAU member universities toured the booths at the fairgrounds. Engaging in conversations with students and asking about their dreams, the rectors offered advice and recommendations to the students. Additionally, as students visited the university stands at the fair, they were provided with information about the universities and presented with gifts.
