KAEU once again demonstrated its sensitivity towards issues concerning Turkish and Islamic geography in terms of social awareness. Moments captured by the Anadolu Agency depicting the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza were brought to life in the "Gaza: The Bleeding Wound of Humanity" photo exhibition at the Ahi Evran Culture and Congress Center Foyer Area. The opening of the photo exhibition was conducted by Deputy Minister of National Education Kemal Şamlıoğlu on March 13, 2024. Attending the opening were Kırşehir Member of Parliament Necmettin Erkan, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Provincial Director of National Education Yasin Gülşen, Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, and Prof. Dr. Musa Özata, along with General Secretary Dr. Hüseyin İlter, and numerous academics and students.

The Gaza Cause is Our Cause

The exhibition at the Foyer Area features photographs depicting the destruction and tragedy resulting from Israel's attacks on Gaza. Speaking at the opening, Deputy Minister of National Education Kemal Şamlıoğlu stated that the world had witnessed the massacre but remained silent. Emphasizing that Jerusalem and Gaza were also their cause, Şamlıoğlu expressed their responsibility to tell the truth. Deputy Minister Şamlıoğlu thanked everyone involved in the exhibition and stated that Gaza would always be on their agenda.



Consciousness is Kept Alive with Such Organizations

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil expressed their sorrow for Gaza, and they couldn't find any words to describe what they saw. However, he mentioned that through such organizations, meetings, and marches, they expressed their reactions and kept their consciousness alive. Following the speeches, Şamlıoğlu, Karahocagil, AK Party Kırşehir Deputy Necmettin Erkan, along with academics, administrative staff, and students, toured the photographs in the exhibition. After the exhibition, the guests were hosted in the rectorate's office.

Conference titled Zionism, Promised Land, and Turkiye was Held 

Following the exhibition, a conference titled "Zionism, Promised Land, and Turkiye " was organized by the Social Contribution Coordination Office of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University in the July 15 National Will Hall. The opening speech of the conference was given by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, while the Social Contribution Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammed Maruf talked at the conference, discussing the history and current state of Zionism, Promised Land plans, and the situation of Turkiye.
