The efforts initiated approximately three years ago to utilize the hot spring found in the village of Medetsiz in the Mucur District of Kırşehir for the agricultural development of our country have begun to yield results. A greenhouse, established on thirty acres of land through the initiatives of businessman Halil Kitapçı for geothermal-based production, was visited by Rector of KAEÜ Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş on March 6, 2024.

During the visit, Rector Karahocagil received information about the greenhouse, and he emphasized the significance of implementing such projects aimed at utilizing geothermal water resources beneficially, stating that this investment would take Kırşehir to more advanced levels in agriculture. He highlighted the importance of utilizing geothermal water resources effectively and emphasized the importance of such projects. Karahocagil reminded that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University also conducted research and development (R&D) activities in this regard and expressed willingness to collaborate, stating, "Many projects are being carried out within the framework of greenhouse activities at our university. These projects aim to integrate greenhouse farming with new technologies, stimulate exports, raise awareness among the local population, and promote development. The 500-job employment created with technology and R&D support in Karakurt Village could also be replicated in Medetsiz."
