On December 14, 2023, at our Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center, an introduction to the Academic Data Management System and SPSS Software took place in the 15 Temmuz Milli İrade Hall. Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek and Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, General Secretary Dr. Hüseyin İlter, KAEU Faculty Members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Salih Şimşek and Prof. Dr. Elif Sevim, Head of KAEÜ Directorate of  Information Technologies Canfer Memoğlu, Talent Soft Representative Hayri Kılıç attended the event along with academic and administrative staff.

During the opening of the training, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek delivered a speech. Şimşek stated that the meeting was organized to introduce our university's new Academic Data Management system and the SPSS software that KAEU faculty members would use in their scientific studies. He emphasized that with the use of such information systems by the university, the classification and accessibility of scientific publications made by academic staff could be done much more easily. Vice-Rector Şimşek mentioned that they had previously included the acquisition of the Academic Data Management System and SPSS software in their improvement plans and that they had been making efforts to conclude this matter at a fast pace. Şimşek expressed that especially with the introduction of the Academic Data Management System and SPSS software to our university, our academics would overcome many problems in evaluating research results and tracking and classifying scientific publications. Wishing success for these two new programs for our academics, students, and university, Vice Rector Şimşek concluded his words by congratulating those who contributed to this process.

At the training held at the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center, the director of the KAEU Measurement and Evaluation Office Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Salih Şimşek mentioned that SPSS was an important software used in statistics and data analysis. Şimşek stated that there were many paid and free software options available for this purpose and that software was customized according to needs based on specific fields. Highlighting that SPSS was currently one of the most widely used software globally, Şimşek mentioned that, especially when categorized by interface and paid software, it offered a practical solution in many fields, particularly in social sciences and biostatistics. Emphasizing the importance of purchasing the program, Şimşek stated that the software was quite useful and facilitated the process, especially for researchers who were new to statistics and research.

KAEU Head of KAEÜ Directorate of  Information Technologies Canfer Memoğlu provided information regarding the installation and licensing of the SPSS system. Memoğlu offered solutions to potential problems that might arise during the installation of the software and assured that they would be able to provide technical support when needed. He mentioned that academicians would use the SPSS software only on computers linked to their identities within the university and clarified that the software could serve up to 25 people simultaneously.

Following Canfer Memoğlu, the Head of KAEU Academic Development Support Office Prof. Dr. Elif Sevim took the floor. Sevim emphasized that the SPSS software system would bring significant advantages to our university. Stressing the importance of academic web pages as the outward face of academicians, Sevim pointed out that the new Academic Data Management System would greatly ease the process of lengthy data entry, making it much more straightforward.

Finally, Hayri Kılıç, the representative from Talent Soft, delivered an informative presentation on the operation and usage of the Academic Data Management System. After addressing the questions of the academic staff, he concluded his speech.
