Kırşehir Ahi Evran University has recently been awarded the 5-Star Superior Performance Certificate by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). Our university, which has made significant progress in the field of Quality Management Systems, continues to enhance local and national collaborations in the field of Research and Development (R&D).

The Central Research and Application Laboratory team met with the Food Innovation Technologies Research Group of the TUBITAK Marmara Research Center (TUBITAK MAM). The meeting took place on December 8, 2023, at the TUBITAK-MAM Gebze Campus. The Central Research and Application Laboratory team was represented by the Director of Central Research and Application Laboratory Asst. Prof. Dr. Murat Çınarlı, Deputy Director Dr. Şefik Tekle, and Lect. Esra Çınarlı. Moreover, Chief Specialist Res. Dr. Öznur Karaoğlu, Chief Specialist Res. Dr. M. Banu Bahar, Chief Specialist Res. Ebru Pelvan, and Senior Expert Res. Dr. Bülent Karadeniz attended the meeting. Information was provided about the Regional Development and Specialization and Pilot projects of KAEU, and discussions were held regarding collaborative areas of interest.

In addition, the research group made a presentation to the Central Research and Application Laboratory team about the Turkiye Food Innovation Platform (TUGIP), which was established under the leadership of TUBITAK MAM Life Sciences. TUGIP aims to enhance the R&D and innovation capabilities of the food sector to achieve greater goals. Discussions were held regarding our university's membership in the relevant platform, and protocols and agreements were considered. Subsequently, the team visited TUGIP's Food Innovation Center at TUBITAK MAM Gebze campus, which houses eight fully-equipped and state-of-the-art pilot processing lines for various food and beverage groups (Fermented Fruit Products, Pomegranate and Fruit Juice Processing, Hazelnut Product Processing, Plant Extraction and Tea Processing, Seafood Processing, Ready Meals Processing, Minimally Processed Foods, Starter Cultures and Dairy Products Lines).

Kırşehir Ahi Evran University and TUBITAK MAM concluded the visit after discussions on the potential joint projects in the future as part of their collaboration.
