To draw attention and raise awareness about the genocide committed by Israel for about two months including children, the elderly, civilians, hospitals, healthcare workers, and doctors who have immunity in wars, a photography exhibition titled "Being a Physician in Gaza" was organized at the Faculty of Medicine. Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil visited the exhibition organized by the Ahi Physicians Student Society at the Faculty of Medicine. Vice-Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş and Vice-Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Musa Özata accompanied Rector Karahocagil during the visit.

Rector Karahocagil congratulated the members of the Ahi Physicians Student Society for organizing such a meaningful event and raising awareness among the medical students and stated that they were in favor of increasing the number of meaningful events. Rector Karahocagil stated that all the people of the world, especially our country, reacted with intense protests to the massacre committed by Israel, which bombed all of Gaza and killed innocent people, without distinguishing between hospitals, schools, healthcare workers, and universities. He stated that being a doctor was not only about treating people physically but also aiming to raise social awareness to prevent wars was a preventive health service.

Şevket Taner, a second-year student of the Faculty of Medicine and president of the Ahi Physicians Community, thanked Rector Karahocagil and vice-rectors for visiting the photo exhibition and honoring them. He expressed that they were grateful for the support provided by the deanery and university administration in the events held as Ahi Physicians Community. He said that they were making preparations to organize a panel on Gaza, Health, and Palestine in the future to explain that Palestine was not just a land issue but a humanity issue, and stated that they were working on inviting guests from our country and abroad, and finally, they invited all the medical faculty students to become members of the Ahi Physicians Community and support them.

After visiting the photography exhibition, Rector Karahocagil visited the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, in his office and received information about the faculty accreditation preparations.
