The bozlaks, which are the expression of the saz and lyric culture in Anatolia, with roots extending to Central Asia, have a significant place in Central Anatolia, especially in Kırşehir. Poets and minstrels such as Aşık Said, Muharrem Ertaş, Ali Çekiç, Şemsi Yastıman, and the great master of saz and lyrics, Neşet Ertaş, have contributed to the development of music and the emergence of new artists nationwide, leaving unforgettable works to Turkish Folk Music. In this regard, the KAEU Neşet Ertaş Faculty of Fine Arts has an important mission within its departments. The Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, who is always aware of this mission, stated, "KAEU Faculty of Fine Arts has great potential and the culture of the city supports it. In Kırşehir, which is recognized as a UNESCO City of Music, we are planning to establish the Turkish Folk Music Department to create a space suitable for local music, alongside the current music department."
Just as We Work on Preserving the Values of Ahi-Order, We Must Contribute to Ahi Community Culture
As part of his academic unit visits, Rector Karahocagil visited the Neşet Ertaş Faculty of Fine Arts and Mucur Vocational School. He began his visits with the Faculty of Fine Arts, where he received information about the faculty from the Vice-Rector and Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, and listened to the faculty members. The Faculty houses four departments, including the Music Department, Traditional Turkish Arts Department, Carpet, Rug and Traditional Fabric Patterns Department, and Illumination Department. Professor Karahocagil, noting that there were areas where the faculty needed improvement in terms of physical space and human resources, said, 'There is a demand, especially from the city and the faculty, to establish new departments, particularly the Turkish Folk Music Department. We will take the necessary steps to establish this department because the city is more inclined towards this musical culture. We will take the necessary steps to make a faculty, that is a value of Kırşehir, a value of Turkiye, and ensure its development. Just as we work on preserving the values of Ahi-Order, we must also contribute to its culture.' After the meeting, Karahocagil toured the workshops, where he wove carpets and chatted with students.
Financial Laboratory: A Great Opportunity for Our Students

Subsequently, the computer laboratories, film studios, and solar panels were toured, and the students expressed their concerns. Within a 1,000 square meter area, they also closely observed 480 units of 270 W solar panels. Rector Karahocagil said, "Energy is a significant issue being worked on both in our country and globally today; it is not a trivial matter. Therefore, this contribution is a significant one. I wholeheartedly congratulate everyone who contributed." Following this, the opening of the Financial Laboratory, established with the support of a private bank, took place. At the opening ceremony, Karahocagil stated, "Our students will use the 'Financial Laboratory' for computer-aided practical education in areas such as financial management, investment analysis, portfolio management, financial statement analysis, as well as finance, accounting, econometrics, and statistics. They will become acquainted with transaction markets. This laboratory is a great opportunity and will provide significant contributions to our students."
