Asst. Prof. Dr. Öznur Akgiş İlhan, a faculty member of KAEU Faculty of Arts and Sciences, will be the coordinator of the project titled 'Digital Nomads as a New Type of Tourist: Developing Strategies for Making Turkiye an Attractive Destination,' which has been awarded 'A' grade support within the scope of TÜBİTAK's 3005 Innovative Solutions in Social and Humanities Research Projects Support Program. The project will be carried out with the collaboration of Prof. Dr. Semra Günay, the Dean of Faculty of Tourism and Lect. Önder Demir from Anadolu University; Dr. Fatma Yaşlı from Eskişehir Technical University; and Deniz Ateş, a doctoral student at Geography Department of Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University. The project's collaborative partners include TOBB Insurance Agencies Executive Committee, Turkiye Young Businessmen's Association, Tourist Guides Association (TUREB), and Geography Education Association.

The project aims to contribute to the development of the digital nomadism industry in Turkiye by devising strategies that will make our country a preferred destination for digital nomads. The project will last 20 months, with a total budget of 344,000 Turkish Liras. These resources will be allocated to research and informational activities geared towards enhancing the digital nomadism industry in Turkiye.
